Important Pair of Adam Period Polychrome Papier Mache & Japanned D-shaped Pier Tables

Pair of Adam Period Polychrome Papier Mache & Japanned D-Shaped Pier Tables in the "Etruscan" Taste, attributed to Henry Clay of Birmingham. Each table with a "stoved" papier-mache top, having alternating palmette and foliate border issuing a demi-lune featured reserve with bellflowers, palmettes, and beaded decoration. The conforming frieze with ribbon-tied berried laurel swags with oval paterae above the legs framing classically draped "Roman" female figures, raised on square tapering legs painted with berried laurel vines and ivory edging and applied ankle collars. English circa 1775.

Regency Faux Rosewood

Fine Regency Faux Rosewood Console Table, the faux figured marble top above a gilt stenciled frieze, raised on rich classically carved and parcel-gilt lyre supports with brass strings and anthemion ending in scroll feet and a plinth base. English circa 1820

Fine Chippendale Period Mahogany Wineboard

Having a rectangular figured mahogany top above three paneled and cockbeaded drawers and sides, all finely figured and centered on a cast brass bale handle, with two central pierced scrolled brackets and a shaped fluted apron. The large metal-lined drawers are on rollers and fitted for 24 bottles of wine. English circa 1760

Very Fine Pair of Adam Style Black Lacquer and Parcel-Gilt D-Shape Console Tables, having beautifully gilt decorated chinoiserie tops with figures, pavilions and rockwork alongside a watery landscape with boats, within a border of meandering key and archaic antiques, the aprons with carved and gilt swags, on three square tapering legs with carved and gilt stop-fluting ending in block feet. English circa 1920.
