Rare William & Mary tall back bannister carved and ebonized open armchair, with a pierced cresting over four carved scrolling back splats flanked by block and turned stiles with urn-shaped finials, down swept scrolled arms over serpentine supports, the seat upholstered with several layers of antique silk, over serpentine S-curved legs ending in scrolled feet, joined by ring-turned stretchers.
